Talken DAO
Talken's DAO is a decentralized autonomous organization that allows community members to directly participate in major decisions of the platform. The DAO operates based on transparency and fairness, and grows together with the community through a contribution-based participation structure.
The Governance Apps
Vote on proposals and shape the future of Talken through two dedicated platforms:
Talken Governance The official governance voting service where you can review real-time governance proposals and cast your vote.
Snapshot A popular voting platform that also allows users to review and vote on Talkenβs real-time governance proposals.
The Governance Process
The governance process consists of three distinct phases:
Phase 1: Proposal and Refinement Anyone can submit suggestions on Talken's official Telegram and Discord communities, covering a wide range of topics including improvements, new feature additions, and policy changes. These suggestions are shared with the community, who participate in the discussion for a week. During this period, various opinions are exchanged, allowing suggestions to be refined and matured into well-crafted proposals. This collaborative approach allows for ideas to be thoroughly reviewed and improved through community feedback within a structured time frame, ensuring that initial suggestions evolve into more comprehensive and polished proposals.
Phase 2: Voting Once a proposal is finalized through community discussion, it moves into the governance voting phase. Voting takes place within the Talken service for a week and can also be conducted via Snapshot. Following the approval of [TIP-8], Talken uses a ve (Vote-Escrowed) based voting system. Voting power is determined by the amount of TALK staked and the lock-up duration, meaning long-term stakers have greater voting influence.
Phase 3: Outcome Based on the voting results, the proposal is either approved or rejected. Approved proposals move on to the implementation stage.
Voting Requirements
To participate in voting, an active TALK staking position is required.
A minimum lock-up period of 4 weeks applies when staking, and unstaking is not possible during the lock-up period
Voting power is based on the ve-TALK balance at the time of voting, which is determined by the staked amount and lock-up duration
TALK staking participants can be part of shaping Talken's future through governance voting.
Development Through Governance
Talken prioritizes long-term contribution over short-term holding through its governance structure, pursuing sustainable growth together with the community. This system ensures that Talkenβs future direction is determined by the choices of its real contributors.
